The Players in Airport Ground Handling:a New Typology Reflecting the International Expansion

Abstract

W artykule przedstawiono globalny charakter niektórych graczy w branży obsługi naziemnej lotniska. W sposób kompleksowy omówiono czynniki powodujące fragmen­tację branży obsługi naziemnej, a to aby wyjaśnić kontekst, w którym gracze globalni rozwijają działalność na arenie międzynarodowej. Wykorzystując zmodyfikowane wer­sje UNCTAD Geographical Spread Indices, w artykule zbadano kilku graczy obsługi naziemnej oraz zaproponowano nową typologię tej obsługi, zgodną z kierunkiem eks­pansji międzynarodowej: najważniejszych globalnych braczy w branży, kluczowe mię­dzyregionalne i międzynarodowe lotniska oraz najważniejsze międzynarodowe i lokalne centra obsługi naziemnej. Uwzględniając portfel produktów, autorki artykułu tworzą jed­nocześnie dwuwymiarową siatkę umożliwiającą analizę ewolucji branży obsługi naziem­nej w celu ukazania międzynarodowej ekspansji kluczowych zawodników w różnych usługach tej obsługi. Powołując się na wzrost organiczny oraz przykłady konsolidacji, założono rozwój branży w stronę wieloproduktowych firm obsługi naziemnej obecnych we wszystkich regionach świata.
