Purpose: The aim of this article is to identify areas for the use of intelligent management in urban mobility, to identify factors determining further development in this area and to define a strategic decision-making framework for the integration of artificial intelligence in urban mobility. Need for the study: Decisions to implement management based on modern intelligent mobility solutions can improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase passenger comfort. This article addresses the need to fill the research gap identified in the literature in the area of decision-making for the implementation and operation of AI-based smart mobility. Methodology: The first part of this article presents a literature review of AI solutions used in smart urban mobility and the factors influencing the decision to implement them. This forms the basis for further practical research based on case studies showing examples of the application of these solutions in the intelligent management of selected cities and the conditions and further developments in this area. The final section of the article also provides a strategic view of the decision-making process in the development of smart urban mobility. Findings: The research presented has identified the practical key elements of the AI-enhanced smart mobility concept and its framework conditions. In addition, the authors presented a model approach to strategic decision-making for the AI-enhanced smart mobility concept. Practical Implications: The research carried out will identify good practices in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the management of sustainable urban mobility and will identify the main factors influencing decisions related to the use of AI in smart mobility.
