Twelve poems are dedicated to twelve months. The author presents nature, work in the field and farm, religious and pagan ceremonies performed at the time in the Polish countryside, from a perspectiveof a Baroque classicist. He links erudition (e.g. references to Vergilius, Jan Kochanowski, Szymon Szymonowic) with observations and often humour. The publication includes an introduction that provides the reader with a historical background and context to the piece, the description of the sources, translation, and editorial notes.
