Deadline for the submission of manuscripts for publication: by February 29th.

Manuscripts prepared in accordance with the guidelines should be sent to the following address: studia.jezykoznawcze@usz.edu.pl

Rules of preparing texts submitted for publication in

„Studia Językoznawcze”

1. Texts should be written in Polish or in one of the conference working languages.

2. The journal doesn't charge an expense to authors.

3. Deadline for submitting texts: up to February 29th.

4. Form of texts – only electronic, sent online (email address: studia.jezykoznawcze@usz.edu.pl). Articles should be sent twice:

       a) before the review: doc or docx format; without personal data on the title page;

       b) after the review: doc. or docx. and (additionally) pdf; on the title page (top-left corner) – personal data: first name, surname,

       affiliation, email, ORCID.

5. The size of the texts for publication: about 0.5 of a quire (20,000 characters).

6. Font: the main text – Times New Roman, 12 points; line spacing – 1.5; foot/endnotes – Times New Roman, 10 points.

7. Emphasis in the text: analysed words and phrases – italics; longer citations that are being analysed – normal font, 12 points (they will be made smaller in typesetting), the same refers to analysed poems or their fragments.

8. Titles of works inside the text – italics, titles of magazines – normal font, in quotation marks.

9. Notes:

       a) notes: consecutive numbers, superscript;

       b) footnotes at the bottom of the page;

       c) footnote format:

• one-three authors: first name (full name, not the initial) and surname of the author(s). Title of the source (Place of publication: publisher, year of publication), number of the page (without ‘p’ or ‘pp’), e.g.:

Irena Bajerowa, Zarys historii języka polskiego 1939-2000 (Warszawa: Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN, 2003), 87-89.

• four or more authors: first name and surname of the first author (the list of all the authors should be included in the bibliography), with the phrase ‘et al.’. Title of the work (Place of publication: publisher, year of publishing), page number.
• joint work edited by: first name and surname / first names and surnames (ed.), Title of the work (Place of publication: year of publishing), page number, e.g.:

Renata Grzegorczykowa, Roman Laskowski, Henryk Wróbel (ed.), Gramatyka współczesnego języka polskiego, second edition (Warszawa: Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN, 1998), 30.

10. The manuscript submitted should contain the bibliography (title: Bibliography, bold; alphabetical order; after the surname and first name of the author / editor – full stop; after the title of the work – full stop; place, publisher and year of publishing withour brackets; in case of articles it is necessary to give the page numbers), e.g.:

13. After the title and before the text there is a place for three keywords that render the meaning of the article in the best possible way (they should be arranged from most general to most specific).

14. Illustrations should be sent in the form of source graphic files (e.g. *.cdr, *.ai, *.eps, *.wmf, *.emf, Excel charts and the like):

• photos – resolution of 300 dpi (image size in 1:1 scale), in formats of *.tif or *.jpg (maximum width – 125 mm, maximum height – 170 mm).
• scanned pictures, diagrams – black and white (line art), resolution of 1200 dpi, in formats of *.tif or *.jpg.

Illustrations, diagrams copied from the internet are forbidden (their resolution is not good enough).

15. The manuscript should contain a summary (up to 1,500 characters, about half a page) in Polish.

16. The Editorial Office reserves the right to choose texts for publication.
