Abstract

Miscellanea of the Maritime Economy (on the Example of the Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście)

The monograph Miscellanea of Maritime Economy (on the Example of Szczecin and Świnoujście Ports) presents a multifaceted analysis of the operations of seaports of strategic importance to the national economy. Detailed data on cargo handling from 1990 to 2023 are provided, highlighting seasonality, dynamic changes, and the influence of external factors, such as the war in Ukraine and shifts in the international environment. Particular emphasis is placed on the universalization of port activities and econometric modeling, which served as a basis for formulating long-term forecasts. The author also addresses challenges related to port infrastructure utilization, investments, and the optimization of handling operations in the context of global and local economic trends. The monograph offers practical conclusions and recommendations for policymakers and researchers interested in the dynamics of Poland’s maritime economy.
