“Studia Językoznawcze. Synchroniczne i diachroniczne aspekty badań polszczyzny” (“Language Studies. Synchronic and diachronic aspects of the Polish language research”) is a yearbook which has been published since 2002. The journal publishes articles on various linguistic phenomena in Polish and other European languages. The thematic scope of the published articles includes: studies of the old and contemporary Polish language, linguistic stylistics, semantics, phraseology, sociolinguistics, comparative linguistics, translation, cultural linguistics and onomastics. We are also open to other proposals which will fit into the broad area of research on the Polish language. The journal also publishes reviews of linguistic publications, reports from conferences and important scientific events.
The founder and first editor of the journal was prof. dr hab. Mirosława Białoskórska, and since 2020 this role is fulfilled by dr hab. Adrianna Seniów, prof. US.
The main form of the journal is the paper version, but since 2009 (vol. VIII) the yearbook’s issues have also been available on our websites within the Open Access to scientific publications: Issues. The editorial board does not charge fees for the publication of articles in the journal. Manuscripts are accepted for publication by January 15th each year.
The score for the publication – according to the list of journals of the Ministry of Education and Science – is 70 points. In the years 2019-2021, the journal “Studia Językoznawcze. Synchroniczne i diachroniczne aspekty badań polszczyzny” is funded under the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “Support for scientific journals”.

Full versions of articles published in the journal are available at wnus.edu.pl without grace period or any technological barriers. Articles are published on CC-BY-SA license and journal have not any article processing charges (APCs). Authors hold the copyright to their articles without restrictions.
