Абстракт

The paper deals with idiomatic expressions such as palce lizać, paluszki lizać and że palce lizać, że paluszki lizać which are usually described as phraseological units or verbal phrases. The research conducted here allows us to conclude, that – despite of what could be assumed based on their form – these expressions are functionally analogous not to verbs, but to adjectives or adverbs. In this case, we observe the lack of correlation between the formal shape of the expression and its grammatical features.
