Purpose: The aim of this paper is to identify differences in the perception of distributive justice in enterprises by employees of Generations X, Y and Z in the era of artificial intelligence. Need for the study: AI can be used to promote justice or perpetuate injustice. Perception of distributive justice by employees influences behaviours and attitudes in a workplace and these behaviours and attitudes directly translate into companies’ financial results. Methodology: A questionnaire survey was conducted on a group of 109 working respondents (XII 2023 – II 2024; in the West Pomeranian province in Poland). The study used the Organizational Justice Measurement Instrument (OJMI). Findings: The article presents the impact of AI on HR areas in the context of distributive justice. The study also showed that differences in the perception of distributive justice are smaller between Generations X and Y than in comparisons between X and Z or Y and Z. The biggest differences were noted between Generation Z and Generations X and Y in terms of inclusion in the decision-making processes that are relevant to the work of employees and being consulted in the development of organizational policies and procedures. There were no differences between Generation X, Y and Z respondents in their perception of ethics-related issues in processes related to the implementation of the organizational strategy. Practical Implications: This research allows a better understanding of human behaviour in the context of work in the era of artificial intelligence. The research shows how distributive justice is perceived by people of Generations X, Y and Z, which affects the understanding of generational differences in societies.
