Dialog chrześcijaństwa z religiami Wschodu w dziełach Thomasa Mertona

Abstract
By meeting with believers of Eastern religions Thomas Merton shows that the goal of interreligious dialogue is to meet and understand each other. What counts is respect and openness to other people. This dialogue is a fraternal attitude towards one another. The dialogue helps to discover the value of one’s own religion. A Christian gives a testimony for God by sharing their experience of faith. Merton meets Zen Buddhism and Chuang Tzu. He sees similarities and analogies between them and Christianity. He notices unity in people of different religious traditions. Merton observes that everybody needs to stop and calm down, which is the common point of Christianity and Eastern religions.
