Abstract

The article presents selected results of research carried out among users of West Pomerania Province passenger transport system in 2013 and 2015. The functioning and development of passenger transport systems in the regions is determined by a number of factors. Due to the EU transport policies, a factor which became of particular importance in recent years is to identify the needs and preferences of transport reported both by the users of public transport, as well as the individual transport. The aim of the article is to identify and evaluate the needs and preferences of passenger transport users in the West Pomerania region. Moreover, the research aimed to show whether and to what extent the system surveyed responds to the needs of its users and changes that occur in this area over the period studied. Respondents also indicated advantages and disadvantages of the public transport and individual transport. To achieve the objective the method of critical analysis of literature, documentary method and survey, followed by a questionnaire, were used. Primary research was carried out in the administrative area of West Pomerania Province. The survey method included direct survey and online survey.
