About the journal

Acta Iuris Stetinensis (ISSN: 2083-4373, e ISSN: 2545-3181) is a periodical published since 2011. It is a continuation of the quarterly “Zeszyty Naukowe. Roczniki Prawnicze” issued between 1987 and 2010. It is published in a paper and electronic (original version) form.

In its main assumption, the journal is a forum for exchanging legal thought and primarily provides a plane where views on the current, past and forecast legal order are cut and thrust. The journal also aims to contribute to greater integration of the legal circles and to be a source of inspiration for legal scholars and commentators and representatives of authorities applying the law as well as practising lawyers.

The journal publishes papers addressing issues from the field of social science that covers scholarly disciplines of legal studies, canon law and political and administrative science.

The journal groups scholarly publications into several sections.

The Articles section includes scholarly articles from the following disciplines: legal studies, canon law and political and administrative science. Articles are published in Polish or English. The thematic scope of the articles published also covers commentaries to rulings or decisions of law applying bodies that pertain to private and public law alike also from the perspective of international law.

The Szczecin Case List section presents judgements of the Court of Appeal in Szczecin and the Voivodeship Administrative Court in Szczecin.

The Reviews section offers reviews of scholarly publications that focus on the legal science.

The Reports section publishes reports from relevant meetings, symposia, conferences and scholarly seminars.

The editorial team uses anti-plagiarism software Plagiat.pl to check originality of submitted manuscripts.

Acta Iuris Stetinensis is entered in the List of Scholarly Journals and has been awarded 40 points under the Communication from the Minter for Science of 5 January 2024 on the list of scholarly journals and peer-reviewed international conference proceedings.

 

Aims and scope

Acta Iuris Stetinensis is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin four times a year (not later than 31 March, not later than 30 June, not later than 30 September and not later than 31 December).

In its main assumption, the journal is a forum for exchanging legal thought and primarily provides a plane where views on the current, past and forecast legal order are cut and thrust. The journal also aims to contribute to greater integration of the legal circles and to be a source of inspiration for legal scholars and commentators and representatives of authorities applying the law as well as practising lawyers.

The journal publishes papers addressing issues from the field of social science that covers scholarly disciplines of legal studies, canon law and political and administrative science.

The journal’s aim is to disseminate, in open access, results of research carried out by lawyers both at home and abroad and to bring a platform for an exchange of knowledge and for assessing the operation of legal standards in today’s world.

Some articles are published in English. This allows dissemination of research carried out in Polish research centres on the international arena and promotion of research of foreign authors in the Polish circles.

Abstracts are published in Polish and English.

Apart from articles, the quarterly also publishes reviews, reports and commentary to interesting rulings of Szczecin’s common and administrative courts.
