Submission guidelines

Before submission, a manuscript must be formatted according to the following rules.

Acta Iuris Stetinensis accepts manuscripts that do not exceed 1 sheet (40,000 characters including spaces and footnotes) and are not shorter than: 10 pages (scholarly papers) or 4 pages (commentaries).

The journal does not charge fees for manuscript submission/acceptance for publication and publication.

The author does not transfer onto the publisher author’s economic rights to the article.

Manuscripts submitted to Acta Iuris Stetinensis must be original works, must include research results not published before in any language version and they must not in any way infringe on the copyright of third persons.

For multi-author texts, the percentage contribution of individual authors in the making of the publication must be stated. The corresponding author is responsible for the correctness of the information provided.

Authors are obliged to inform the editors of sources of financing of the publication. Manuscripts must include information of any possible external sources of financing (e.g. grant, funding).

All manuscript must follow the format outlined below:

• author’s name and surname – and additionally:

- academic title or degree/professional title,

- affiliation (name of institution, country),

- e-mail address,

- author’s ORCID.

• Title – brief, precisely outlining the subject matter discussed in the manuscript without general terms or abbreviations; the title must be provided in English.

• Abstract in the language of the manuscript – up to 2,500 characters including spaces. The abstract should specify:

- manuscript’s background and objectives,

- research methodology,

- main conclusions/research findings;

Authors must use the past tense in abstracts written in English.

• Keywords – up to 5 words/phrases significant for the text;

• Article:

- clearly marked introduction and conclusions,

- references quoted must follow the journal’s style guide downloaded here

- spacing - 1.5,

- left and right margin - 2.5 cm,

- font for manuscript: Times New Roman 12 (bold letters and italics are permitted, please do not use underlining),

- font for References: Times New Roman 10,

- sub-headings are allowed.

• References:

- ordered alphabetically according to the first letter of the quoted author’s surname,

- must include literature and sources and judicial decisions; editors reserve the right to limit the References submitted along with the manuscript to literature only,

- References must be made in Latin alphabet; sources written in other alphabets (e.g. Cyrillic) must be transliterated (not transcribed phonetically),

- References must include literature relevant to the subject matter of the article.

The language of titles, abstracts and texts published in English must be clear and easy for readers to understand.

Before the publication, authors must fill out and submit personal questionnaires along with required statements (e.g. of originality of the manuscript, consent for personal data processing) download file.

Manuscripts submitted for publication, prepared according to the guidelines presented above, must be sent via the journals platform wnus.usz.edu.pl.

The Editors do not start work on a manuscript that does not meet the requirements indicated above.

Copyright

In consideration to the requirements laid down in the Act of 4 February 1994 on copyright and related rights (consolidated text, Dz. U. [Journal of Laws] of 2022 item 2509), scholarly papers submitted for publication in Acta Iuris Stetinensis must be created in an independent creative process and must not infringe on the copyright of third persons.

The authors must declare that manuscripts submitted to Acta Iuris Stetinensis are original. Relevant declaration forms are included in the personal questionnaire sent along with paper submission (Personal Questionnaire) and also in the licence agreement signed with authors (Licence Agreement).  

Under the licence agreements executed with authors of manuscripts that are accepted for publication, authors give non-exclusive and free-of-charge licence for their work, without territorial and time restrictions. The licence agreement includes authors’ permission to send manuscript’s meta data and the manuscript itself to data bases that index journals.

Manuscripts published in Acta Iuris Stetinensis are at the same time made available under the Creative Commons Attribution licence. Under the same terms – Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-SA).

Procedure for withdrawal of a publication by the Author

1. Withdrawal of the publication by the Author is possible only at his/her request, on a dedicated form (link) sent electronically to the e-mail address of the Editorial Board.

2. For co-authored publications, the form must be approved by each of the Authors, which the corresponding Author must confirm by a declaration.

3. The procedure for withdrawing a publication varies depending on the current stage of publication:

a) before the review procedure – withdrawal possible without having to provide a detailed justification;

b) during the review procedure and after the manuscript is approved for printing, but before publication – a detailed justification for withdrawal is required.

4. If the withdrawal constitutes a violation of the rules of publishing ethics by the Author, the Editorial Board will inform the Author’s affiliate institution about this fact.

5. The request is examined by the Editorial Board, who may seek the opinion of third parties, including the Reviewers, in the event of circumstanced described in point 3(b).

6. The publication is considered formally withdrawn only after obtaining the consent of the Editorial Board. Lack of response from the Editors does not mean acceptance of the request.
