Abstrakt
From the early 90s of the twentieth century the theme of revitalization appeared in many strategies of urban development. This subject has operated and still operates in two variants: conceptual and as an implementation; very often these two were contradictory because it was dependent on low budgets of local governments. The revitalization is about bringing back the former glory of urban centers and their neighborhoods. It is worth remembering that it improves the living conditions of the residents and other users of degraded areas. The author uses city of Szczecin as an example, and based on the study the author pointed a few examples of the renewal of the city; the costs of the revitalization of selected sites, as well as the opinions of the residents themselves.
