Abstract

The aim of the work is to prove that the comprehensive development of the Lower Vistula River may be one of the most effective ways to build prosperity – increasing productivity today inefficient sectors of the economy and improve the quality of life of society by eliminating the risks associated with water management and energy. It has been shown that the lower section of the Vistula is an extraordinary potential and its comprehensive development could bring many benefits to the economy. In sectors with low productivity, which are currently slowing down socio-economic development. The cascade lower Vistula, as the infrastructure investment, with long period of implementation, and simultaneously relatively low annual expenditures could be one of the ways to accelerate economic development and improve the quality of life of the society.
