Abstract

Air transport plays an undeniably huge role in the development of tourism, one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. His role in transport of passengers increased even more with the advent of charter and low-cost airlines. The aim of this study is to show the changes in the volume of air passenger traffic at major airports of the world. In order to show its importance in tourism presents the changes in the size of international passenger traffic. The aim of the study is also to show changes in the air transport tourist - related to crash of the global economy from the crisis. For its implementation was chosen analysis of changes in passenger traffic and total international traffic. Also shown changes in the traffic in the major tourist airports of the world. To show the influence of political factors selected analysis of changes in volume of passenger traffic at the airports in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The analysis lead to the conclusion that it is clearly visible a greater geographical diversity of ports with the largest international passenger traffic compared to the largest airports in total traffic. Among the latter, in addition to the emergence of new airports in Asia, traditionally a large group create the ports of the United States. Among the twenty largest airports in the world increased the largest number of passengers at the airports in Dubai, Singapore and Istanbul. And in international traffic at airports in Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul and Taipei.
