This article presents the conditions for the deploying of one of the nine available packages agri-environmental program – Package 8. Soil and water protection. It is being implemented by the Rural Development Programme for 2007–2013 and belongs to the Axle 2: Improving the environment and rural areas. 8 package consists of 3 scenarios (8.1 undersown catch crop, variant 8.2 winter catch crop and variant 8.3 winter catch crop). Among the possible variants the greatest interest among farmers enjoyed winter catch crop (variant 8.3). There is a lack of interest in undersown intercrop cultivation, although it does not require additional activities related to the cultivation and preparation of the area under crops. The analysis was conducted on the example of West Pomeranian Province using research data from the West Pomeranian Regional Branch of ARMA and data from studies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
