Abstract

Purpose – The aim of the article was to verify the potential relationships between the level of innovation and the indicators of the market evaluation of public companies. Design/methodology/approach – The sample was consisted of 19 public companies. We used 3 indicators describing innovation and 7 indicators describing market evaluation of enterprises. Potential relations between variables was verified using the Spearman rank correlation coefficients. Findings – Based on the empirical study it can be concluded that there is a statistically significant positive coefficient between selected indicators illustrating the level of innovation and market evaluation of the companies. This relationship was occurred with respect to four indices included in the study. Originality/value – The results and conclusions of the article contribute to expanding the available knowledge of the impact of innovation on the market value of companies. We also presented possible directions for further research.
