What do these numbers mean?

Publications and citations cover records linked to this journal in OpenAlex. H-index is the largest number h of publications with at least h citations each. I10-index counts publications cited at least 10 times. The chart shows citations received in each year; the current year is incomplete. Coverage may differ from WNUS and other services.

The 2-year mean is an OpenAlex metric. It is not the Clarivate Journal Impact Factor.

Abstract

Urban transport safety constitutes a key element of the functioning of modern cities. This article presents the role of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in increasing the safety and efficiency of urban transportation. The article is based on an analysis of secondary data and existing literature. It characterizes the nature and types of Intelligent Transport Systems, including their definitions, key components, and technological evolution. The concept of safety in urban transport is explained, along with the benefits resulting from the implementation of ITS. The aim of the article was to assess the effectiveness of ITS in improving the safety of road users and to identify the challenges related to their implementation. The findings indicate that ITS significantly reduces the number of accidents, optimized traffic flow, and decreased pollutant emissions. The article also discusses challenges such as system integration and cybersecurity, emphasizing the need to adapt ITS to local conditions.
