Principles for peer-reviewing

The procedure for peer-reviewing articles in periodicals at the Faculty of Economics and Management (binding since 2013).

At least two independent reviewers from outside of the faculty are appointed for the peer review. We recommend the double-blind review process, in which the author(s) and reviewers do not know one another’s identities. The reviewer should fill in a suitable declaration (download a document). In other cases the reviewer must sign a declaration on no conflict of interest; it is deemed that a conflict of interest occurs when the author and the reviewer:

  1. are in direct personal relationship (kinship, legal relationships, conflict),
  2. are professionally dependent on one another,
  3. were in close academic collaboration within the two years before the preparation of the review.

The review must be prepared in writing and contain an unambiguous conclusion as to whether the article may be published (either in its current form or after considering the comments of the reviewer) or should be rejected. The review form for the “Studia Informatica Pomerania” is available at the journals’s website (download a document).

In case of co-authorship, it is key to precisely define each author’s share in preparing the publication and to submit a suitable declaration (download a document).

The author is also obliged to submit a declaration that the text submitted to “Studia Informatica Pomerania” has not been/will not be published by any other publishing house (download a document).

The names of the reviewers of particular articles/issues are not disclosed; the periodical publishes a list of its reviewers once a year. The list of previous years’ reviewers is available at the journal’s website.
