Abstract

The article concerns the issue of ageing society in Poland and its impact on the real estate market. The purpose of the article is to define the housing offer for the seniors and to assess the living conditions of the selected retirement house (Środowiskowy Dom Emeryta w Poznaniu) from its residents’ perspective. The first part of the article is an introduction and it identifies the reasons for ageing of society, as well as the types of senior housing in Poland. The second part of the article contains the results of the surveys. The respondents say that after they moved to the retirement house their living conditions improved. The seniors see mainly the positive aspects of the object. They, however, highlight some inconveniences in the offered service and technical infrastructure around the building. The unavailability of some services (for example canteen and alarm system) results from financial limits.
