Abstract

The subject of the research are the effects of the EU’s sustainable development strategy. Based on the analysis of indicators of sustainable development an assessment of the progress in achieving the objectives of this strategy in the Union and the Member States has been made. The studies show that the effects vary depending on the dimensions of sustainable development and the corresponding thematic areas and on the Member States. There is a close correlation between the level of economic development and the effects of implementing the concept of sustainable development, especially with regard to social development.
